Add text like this on our site:
Look at the breadcrumb menu near the top of any page in the red bar (" fe...deralcon...nections.org... > How to grow CoPs > _Who can help you?" ). Click on "federalc onn ections.org" to go back to the home page. Click on "How to grow CoP's" to go back more options for "How to grow CoP's"
Or we can add a home link.
I wanted to tell you how to make a link to another web page (including any page within our site. You have to be in the EDIT POST mode where you are typing in a post.
(Or better yet PASTING in TEXT from NOTEPAD that you typed in WORD or any word processor that has spell check etc and that you then pasted into NOTEPAD to then copy from notepad and paste here. This BLOG software will only accept text - it will not take formatting from WORD or other more complicated software. COPY to Notepad, select Notepad text and copy here. Then you can BOLD or add Italics from the B or I buttons you see when you are writing a post.
See the link above right under the tabs Posts Settings Template
At the left if NEW POST and the to the right a check mark, a world symbol, B I etc.
The world system is the make an internet link symbol. Type any word. I am going to type the word GOOGLE. Then I am going to type the word GOOGLE and go back and highlight it (by mousing over it.) With GOOGLE selected I am going to hit the world button. A windows opens that says http:// in blue, I click AFTER the last / - and then I type in: www.google.com . so it reads http://www.google.com. That is the web address for google. Try it and see for yourself.
In the Edit post section you will see a < in front of the HTML for the web address - then ahref (with a space after the a), then the = sign, the URL in quotes, a >, then the text you want to click to open the url (in this case GOOGLE) an a closing . When you post it, if the format is correct (and world icon creates it for you) then what shows up is the link like my link to GOOGLE above.
Another easy way to do this is when the windows opens up overlay the "http://" you see with a URL you have copied from the address of an open web page. If you do this you have to be careful to remove the http etc that is already in the bar because it won't work with 2 https. Call me to discuss this. It is so easy and so powerful a web tool!
